This is my brother Thomas and I clogging a duet routine we choreographed to "Blue's Berry Hill" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
We have both been clogging for about a year and a half now. We started beginner lessons with the Hi Horse Cloggers in Sept of 2005. We became members of the club and started performing in the spring of 2006. Here we are at our first competition, the First Annual Orange County Clogging Competition.
We were very blessed to take home first place for this routine.

  • I posted this on the NGDB's Facebook page a few minutes ago, but chances are they know about it already. If not, well, they should! :-)

  • You made a very good choice as far as the song goes. Re: The clogging--what can I say? Superb!

  • fast dancers

  • @1chisai fast dancing

  • Sorry for the accidental double post.

  • @tubemagpie I still stand by what I said (almost a year ago now.) We weren't talking about step dancing anyway, but clogging. I made the point that American clogging is different from original British clogging, and has these other influences. You didn't indicate what your expertise in this dance is...??? I am no expert in clogging, but did a lot of research that substantiates what I said. Influences have passed back and forth forever.

  • @1chisai No way! Step dancing and its music stems from the British Isles as a whole and England in particular. In addition much of what is called African American has roots in European music , often more than Africa. As for American Indian influence...Ho Ho!

Not that any of this really matters: It's what exists and is played and danced today that really matters.

  • Totally awesome!
