CCL Excerpt #1 - iOS 5 and Siri Demo

CCL Excerpts are excerpts from our live show, Computer Clan Live. Some excepts are featured in HD. You can watch our live show on Fridays at 9 PM central, and you can download the episodes as a Podcast on iTunes. However, we decided to film featured parts of the show in HD and upload them to YouTube. So CCLE is a new series that will be on this channel.

iOS 5 is the latest iteration of Apple's mobile operating system. I must say that it is fantastic! It has a lot of great features like Notification Center, iMessage, AirPlay Video Mirroring, WiFi Sync with iTunes, iCloud, Newsstand, and so much more. In addition, Siri is a great feature in iOS 5 that runs on the iPhone 4S. One of our Computer Clan members, MaestroBLC, has an iPhone 4S, and he demoed some functions of Siri. Enjoy the demo, and comments are welcome.

  • Is Siri coming on ipad2? It has the same A5 as the 4s any idea?

  • @XGT59 It actually doesn't have the same A5 as the 4S. It's an even faster one! SO I don't know exactly why they didn't bring it to the iPad 2.

  • Why siri cannot be add to iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 by a software update?

  • @honam1021 I think the A4, and the slower antenna can't handle it as well. I'm sure there is a hack for it, it would just be a lot slower, and maybe not as stable.

  • Anybody notice the Cydia icon?

  • @jsdsps01 Well I don't use Cydia, so you must be seeing things. Sorry.

  • Notification center looks like android

  • @hildron101010 it was on your iPad at one time when you were showing the home screen.

  • @UnboundLegend me too..

  • @UnboundLegend The aspect ratio wouldn't match properly to fit the icons. Plus, most apps run in portrait. That's why they didn't do that.

  • I wish the iPod Touch had landscape for the home screen.
