Video Transcript:
Hi Nate Robbins here, senior product support engineer at Symantec. Today I want to tell you about Norton power eraser and how you can use this free tool to clean off any suspected threats on your computer.
When you open Norton power eraser the first thing you'll see is the user license agreement. Read through it and click accept.
Once you have accepted the license agreement, in the next screen, just click scan.
On the next screen we have the option to include or exclude the root kit scan. Generally I recommend running with the root kit scan as it does a more in-depth scan. But for this video, to avoid the restart, we're just going to chose without and click continue.
Now Norton power eraser is scanning your computer for any threats. It's pretty in-depth so it could take a little while. When the scan completes you'll see the results. It should show you any files that it's detected as a threat or suspicious files that may be threats.
Norton Power Eraser uses some very aggressive deep scanning technologies to determine suspected threats on your computer. So be sure to look at each item in the scan results list before just selecting fix all.
Once you have decided which items you're sure you want to fix, click the fix button down below.
Norton power eraser is now removing those threats. In many cases it's going to require a restart afterwards.
Go ahead and click restart; in this video we'll skip past the restart and jump right to the next step. When you start booting up you'll see Norton power eraser initializing and then it'll show you a results page of all the threats that you removed.
Now you know how to remove a threat for free with the Norton power eraser tool.
If you need more help, check out http://norton.com/virusremoval, click the live chat button and you can have one of our experts remove the threat so you don't have to.
Norton is, by far, the best security solution I have ever had (and I have tried soooo many). Their service is international and incredible. Worth every penny.

Nbrt is more universal, some viruses break the exe file extension assosiation and running any windows tool becomes difficult for regular user ( would require changing registry which doesnt work either, regedit is also executable file)
