@scooter6610 negative this happens when you get to a permanent duty station. the closest thing to this in recruit training is the confidence chamber.

no you dont have to. you have to do OC if your going into master at arms. i just did it today, and it sucked ass! i just looked up oc spray just to see other peoples reactions!

Most people get sprayed as soon as they get to the ship now. When I got sprayed, it was only for people that stood the ship's roving security watch.

This is required training for Navy Security Force Sentries and Reaction Forces.

@FireControlman On my ship, it seems like everybody has to do this now for indoc.... I have seen the OOD and POOW carrying OC spray and batons lately.

I'm not sure, I went through bootcamp 4 years ago and we didn't, we had to do a gas chamber though, which is not even close to OC spray........... this is just a qualification course so you can carry the spray on watch, I loved that week! It got me away from the ship, and I got to toss people around and do crazy pressure point moves, and then this, I thought it was fun
