Demonstration of the effects of atmospheric pressure. A 55 gallon drum holds about 2 gallons of water. It is heated using a propane burner. Once the water in the bottom gets boiling it will fill the entire drum with steam. At this point the heat is turned off and the drum is sealed. A few minutes later some ice is placed on the top to help cool the water vapor inside the drum. When the vapor turns back to water the air pressure outside the drum is now much higher than the pressure inside the drum. The drum crushes.
