  • There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves hobbits, elves, and wizards.

  • Adam Curtis is probably one of the most intellegent people i've come across with both intellectual capacity and emotional intellegence in equally great measure.Jarvis Cocker is one the coolest people ever and like Curtis is a brilliant all-rounder as well.

  • Wow, this is the most coherent explanation of the Occupy movement I've heard,

  • I like AD for realizing the Hippie threat and addressing it.

  • Fascinating stuff, Adam Curtis is so intelligent! Thanks for posting!!

  • Adam Curtis + Jarvis Cocker?

    Awesomeness overload.

    I can't stand it.

  • @therighttoremain Of course it is. I'm glad it didn't stop you understanding the sentence. Thanks!!

  • @strangetranceoffaith It's commodify, not co-modify.

  • @kickthepregnant As a rational capitalist, I'd have to paid A LOT of money to put my johnson anywhere near Ayn Rand...

  • presumably Adam Curtis is co-modifying himself exposing his opinion on your show. I'de love to know what he meant by overly rational? He doesn't explain what not overly rational is but I think we all know what the implicite suggestion is. No wonder its not mentioned we all know what overly irrational has lead to. Good documentary though a little thin on substance in parts but good historical research.
