Theolith is a C++ Directx9 3D game.

The game is in french for the beta 1.0

In order to make a beautifull and handy game, I inspired of Warcraft3 for characters and of World of Warcraft for the interface.

I learn with French books
the equivalent in English could be :
- C++ for dummies
- a book for programming 2D games
- a book for Directx 9 : programming 3D games
- a book in English : Real-time 3D terrain engines using C++ and Direct 9

    i have good knowledge on 3ds max , i think there is a ( compilers , plugins , whatever ) that lets you to import the 3d objects to c++ , did you this method ? , i just wana know if theres compilers for other programming softwares like VB and JAVA , i'd like to make a simple game , at least for mobiles such android OS or IOS 4

    in unity 3D, you could import 3DS models

    I totally agree with you. Unity is for people who like game making, but don't like programming. I'm not one of those people BUT I recommend Unity 3D to those people who don't care that it's better to load a texture as R8 instead of a RBGA8 if it's a heightMap, or that if we cast a matrix44 to a matrix33, we remove the translation information.... (I said the 2 first things that crossed my mind :) )

    1. making a c++ game is very hard. a good one like this is harder.

    2. he may have copied the interface but lots of game companys do that. operation 7 is a rip off of combat arms.

    3. he did a very good job and I bet most of you are just jealous of him.

    4. with a little more work he can make this almost as good as wow. maybe a few more weapons and multiplayer.

  • @o0Janster0o learn something called sdl for 2d games, directx for pc and xbox games and opengl for pc and other consoels and operative systems. Opengl, directx and sdl are all c++ extensions to make graphics and sound which are used t o make games.
