In search of this most elusive fish, the Himalayan Golden Mahseer which inhabits some of the fastest rivers in the Himalayers. Capable of stripping 200 yds on line on its first run,and smashing hooks and tackle in a blink of an eye. This is one serious fish which deserves the upmost respect. Enjoy our highlights from our recent trip after these amazing fish.

  • Its another Himalayan Mahseer

  • have you caught any goonch on the trip?

  • No, tried for them on other trips but no success, think the Ramganga is the place to go for a goonch

  • can u give give me tip how to attract this fish

  • @ellora5 Mahseer can be caught on plugs, spoons and spinners, just upgrade the trebles

  • Can I ask what rods/reels you guys used? I thought I heard BlackRock at one point. Also, how did you cope with the swift running water in terms of lure action? Just upstream and straight retrieve through the drift?

  • Used daiwa Exceller 11ft spinning rods, with daiwa saltist spinning reels, most casts made across current, then a slow retrive, current brings lure in at an arc, then moved a down a few yards and cast repeated
