The first time I heard Tony MacAlpine was when I bought his "Maximum Security" album. I was stunned. That was 1987. He is one of the most underappreciated musicians (not to mention unknown) I know of. He is usually known by other aspiring guitarrists, but is largely unknown is the music industry. Absolute crying shame. He deserves more recognition...there just seems to be no ceiling for his talent. He is a true guitar virtuoso.

Tony would have been a good replacement for randy rhoads imo

That's one thing that setz Tony apart from the rest is his incredible feel... doesn't play fast to play fast... but incorporates it into his compositions... as expressions...

I absolutely love this piece! I found it, and Tony, by accident, back around 2000/2 or so, downloading video binaries off of usenet. This tune has the perfect feel for a depressing, moody police/street drama.

Not being racist, but wish more black people would play and listen to this guy instead of all the rap hip hop bullshit!! This is R E A L music!!

the video channel think its amazing - leave it at that. This is actually almost slo-mo for Tony. He's relying mostly on short melodic phrases rather than speedy arpeggios and scales. Quite different for him. Mike Terrana on drums and Ricky Ricardo(no kidding) on bass. I saw this lineup in 1997 in San Diego.
