Explore the role the press played in the lead-up to the U.S. invasion of Iraq.
Opens with a look at coverage of the run-up to the Iraq War by the mainstream media, whom critics have slammed for not sufficiently challenging Bush administration claims about Iraq's possession of WMDs and its possible links to Al Qaeda. Commenting are Dan Rather; Tim Russert ("Meet the Press"); Bob Simon of "60 Minutes"; former CNN president Walter Isaacson; and John Walcott, Jonathan Landay and Warren Strobel of McClatchy Newspapers.

  • I wish I could l hack the network at Fox News and have the channel run this continuosly on a loop for as long as it took them to regain control. That would be freaking excellent

  • @MarkoNadoveza Agreed.

  • Dan Rather was/is pathetic. Just rolled over and obeyed; against all professional inclinations. He'll, perhaps, regret this til his end -- as he should. He's less journalist, and more highly-paid checked-out, passive newsreader. With zero feel for story/truth/investigation: a cardboard-coward.

This is now YOUR burden to bear Mr Rather.

  • I guess ya hadda be there. I live near the WTC; the smell of burning & the plume of smoke, seeing the recovery workers, dusty & tired on the subway reminded you daily should you somehow forget. Still, I was incredulous when Bush invaded Iraq because there was no real evidence that Iraq had WMD's.

  • americans are enslaved by jews , poor people . America must be defeated if americans will not stop the madness

  • It seems at least three queers have seen your comment.(thumbs down was 3)

Not being from Texas myself, make that a 2.

  • Are you a member of the Brotherhood, comrade?

  • I never felt any more or less threatened by terrorism after 9-11. Yet the echo chamber created and imposed the message in the thinking of the sheeple. The media drove the news and reinforced the anxieties of the reporters and the ruling class.

  • Agree. Edward Murrow wouldn't cry like a pussy. And he wouldn't open his ass for repug liars. WTB real journalism.
