Hey... If I remember correctly, officer Winter was killed by the monster, while Jack was crawling in that vent... so, if You can open the armory and take the tommy gun (that 'summons' more creatures), without crawling in vent, is Winter still alive? Or he dies just like the Captain?

Let's see...That was the Captain of the ship...which was attacked by creatures..he knew that there was some witchcraft against the ship and there was no escape...he lost his mind..he went downstairs and locked himself in his cabin.
he started to pray..
...and then...AMEN...BOOM HEADSHOT!!
