Wow! Lovely--the grace, control, musicality! I was fortunate enough to be in the chorus at Versailles in July,1989 when Bruson sang Papa Germont. Even tho' he was near the end of his career, his singing was magnificent. Even more impressive, when the baritone in Andrea Chenier couldn't go the next night, Bruson sang the role with no rehearsal and no rest, then did Traviata again the next night with to trace of fatigue. What a magificent technique.
Fantastic ! Thanks to post it... I have heard Maestro BRUSON in Bruxelles, at his debut there in Rigoletto. He has a wonderful Belcanto style, a perfect legato.
Happy to find another of your precius gems! Like the other, it shows that Renato not only is a legend of great opera, but also a master of the "quite sound", as it is questioned in Lied-interpretation. Have you any more to post?

He has another version not with a piano. The accompaniment there was horrible.
This one is so much better!

I love its dark timbre and sadness of his voice

so many singers make this sound a bit like a dance. he does not. he takes it slow and sticks to the binary rhythm.
