In the second part of my interview with Tim Cain, Tim talks about the politics and philosophy of Fallout and what happened after Interplay realized it had an unexpected hit on its hands.

You can almost hear the pain in his voice there at the end. I can only imagine how great F3 would of been if Tim was the lead for it. Speaking of which, Matt how do you feel about Fallout3??
I personally really liked it as a post apocalyptic game. However, as a continuation of Fallout i feel it was lacking in some of the fundamental elements that made the first 2 games what they are. The fallout franchise all together though is one of my favorites. Cant wait for NV! I have faith in Obsidian.

that's only natural. Bethesda wanted to take the game in a new direction. and Obsidian had to play along if they wanted to develop a Fallout game. personally I tend to skip FO3 entirely and only play New Vegas. it's a great RPG and a relatively good shooter. I just treat FO3 as a spin-off title much like Tactics was

The manual is indeed a very well done part of Fallout. I skip the gamemechanic explanations of course but I read the rest from beginning to end everytime I start a new playthrough... :D

His description of what happened to Fallout 2 is the biggest problem in the gaming industry.
Executives making decisions that the creative department should make. And making them out of a marketing perspective where the goal is to maximize profits regardless of the content, style or idea of the product. The industry is killing creativity in games these days and it's not good. The same has happened to movies a long time ago.
"Hopefully" there will be a big crash and we can reset the industry.

My treatment is covered, as are doctors' visits, and two fMRI scan sessions this year.
Prescriptions are extra, but are covered by AISH.
It's palliative care, since my condition is chronic.
