John McCain
Town Hall Meeting
Portsmouth, OH 07/09/08
TRANSCRIPT:
QUESTIONER: "Right now divorce rates are incredibly high and marriage rates are low. And I wonder how we can fix our [...] entire country if we can't even fix our own homes. So I was wondering if you saw this as a crisis and if you did, if you had a plan to fix them."
JOHN MCCAIN: "[...] I think you could also find statistics that show where there are single-parent families that the chances of the children succeeding are somewhat less, that the strongest unit in America is the two-parent family organization [...] I think that the President did a good job, a fine job, in supporting faith-based organizations.
"I also think that we should do everything that we can, and one of those, in my view, is respect for human life, both born and the unborn. [standing ovation] It's one of the big differences between myself and Sen Obama, who voted against, as a member of the Illinois state legislature in the judiciary committee, voted against a ban on partial-birth abortions, one of the most odious things that I have ever heard of. [...] I want us to make adoption more available. I want us to understand that every life is precious and that there is a family in America for every child. [...] Finally [...] I think that if we inspire Americans [...] to serve a cause greater than their self-interest, to join organizations such as the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts, to do those kinds of community activities, [...] I think it's obvious that families are strengthened and those values are strengthened, and America is strengthened because of it. You ask a very interesting question. And I'll think more about it. [...] I do think all the time about how we can strengthen our values and our nation, which remains a beacon of hope and freedom throughout the world. But I'll also think more about it thanks to your question."

Dude you can't have it both ways, you can't claim to be a maverick and that you will change D.C. when your actions contradict your bullshit! After getting his head handed to him by the Bush in 2000 McCain developed Stockholm syndrome and became enamored with the guy who made him his bitch. There's more to those repeated McCain on Bush man-hugs then just a little love, McCains voted with Bush over 90% of the time. It's Simple - you vote for McCain you're going to get 4 more years of the same.

Dude get off the trend like 80% of the time he voted differently then Bush, and their in the same political party they will be the same on alot of issues.

McCAIN = BUSH = McCAIN
After 8 years of George Bush, do you really want to risk the next 4 on "more of the same" John McCain?

Then I applaud you. In my opinion, the Boy Scouts should direct youthful energy in a positive direction. I also feel that only "parents" of the children in the troop should be Scoutmasters". If the child of the Scoutmaster "graduates" and leaves the troop, so should the "Scoutmaster" move on.
It's important to teach the children that we are "all" Americans and in it together. To make children pledge to a supernatural diety they may not believe in is as wrong as making someone of anther faith.

In our area, I have not seen what you describe. Like any organization, the individual groups bring aboard the values of its members.
I have no control over other groups. Our members are focused on helping our youth to become better citizens within the scope of our abilities and guidelines.

Another Republican who thinks the government should tell people how to live their personal lives. Two things which have ruined the conservative political philosophy is that they abandoned the concept of limited government, and they adopted their incessant international warmongering. John McCain is going to lose badly this fall, and the Republican party is in ruins.
