Pakistan raids turns focus on women's rights - 1 July 2008

For a fourth day running, Pakistani troops have attacked tribal villages near the border with Afghanistan.

The attack came in an area controlled by a local leader who cracks down on mobile phone ring tones and will not let women go shopping on his own.

Al Jazeera's Sohail Rahman reports from the Khyber region where the ongoing operation helping to draw attention to the plight of women.

Pakistan needs to separate the military and the civilian government while shrinking the size of both. They're too cumbersome. And stop being allies with America, but become economic friends instead. Bar their operations from the western borders. And reach out to India for historic reconciliation. Let the free market unleash itself so that the bright and the responsible can truly shine. That is for the security, peace, prosperity and stability of Pakistan now and in the future.

Women in muslim countries don't often report rape. Look up the documentary "Shame" about a woman in Pakistan who was gang raped as a punishment for an offense her BROTHER was accused of. She stood her ground and the men were finally prosecuted, they were not "put to death."

Young girls married off to older men are victums of rape. Western women in Denmark are being raped by muslim gangs as more muslim emmigrate to western countries and bring their prejudices against women with them.

First of all rape in Muslim countries are low because if a men commits rape he is immediately put to death, no If, but, or why, unlike here rapist get 2 to 10 years and come out and do it again.
