@bradyachin Her situation was similar to Elena Liashenko's and Julia Sebestyen's--in that she kept on coming back each season without having made any progress. I blame the coaches and perhaps the Japanese federation for not forcing her to switch coaches when Ms. Fukuhara and the Satos couldn't elevate her skating to the next level over the years.
I think Shizuka would have been in the same situation, had she not taken the step to move to the Tarasova camp.
I guess she placed fourth because she didn't have the artistry of Baiul. Otherwise she had a successful combination, which Baiul did not. And nice spins too. Thanks for posting!
