what do you do with your rads? id imagind they get iced over, full of snow, maybe bent up a little bit from plowing through the deep stuff

The get a little plugged, but that melts away. They don't get as bent as when someone lands a bike in the rocks.

I am an advid snaowmachiner as well as a dirtbike rider, and have been all my life, and I have 2 questions for you.
How do you prevent the carb from icing up (snow need not get in the airbox for this to happen) and how do you prevent the engine from stalling from the snow robbing heat off the engine (e.g. hitting the exhaust header and pipe)?

Both good questions -
First, we add a little gas anti-freeze. We use the red bottle of HEAT. This is expecially needed for the EFI bikes. There is a check valve in the gas tank. Ice crystals form in the check valve and hold it open. When you stop for the day, gas trickles into the cylinder then into the oil.

Second - we don't seem to get much thermal shock. When you jump into a stream, there are a bunch of water molecules hitting your pipe all at once. Water is a pretty concentrated form of water. The snow is pretty fluffy and we do not get the same effect.
