  • How long are the chimes on this particular block?

  • I must admit though, I like the hourly strike on this one. It's much more musical than the usual "dischordant" hourly strike heard on most of today's larger longcase clocks.

  • Actually, what really led me to believe that this is an Emperor clock is the design of the sound escapement panel door on the other side that is seen from the one side we were viewing the movement. According to those Emperor catalogs I used to have, the design of the vents on the side door I have only seen on Emperor clocks.

  • My guess is that this is an Emporor clock of some kind from the 80's with movement 301M (chain driven triple chime movement made by Urgos), as I can see the chains from the inside. And it has that Urgos sound.

  • The hourly chime doesn't sound right, look how the hammers vibrate after striking.

    The quarterly chime sounds great.

  • Beautiful, absolutely beautiful Westminster sound!!! I love it!!!

  • Looks like an Urgos clock.

  • Wow! I wonder if that Westminster Chime is from the HOWARD MILLER, or Ridgeway, or Kieninger, or Seth Thomas, or Hermle?
