Will common sense teach me what it means to be alive
And what to make of all this time, time, time?

And why it seems that I am bound
To love someone who does not know
What it means to love
Someone who has never known
The sweetness of this love

Will common sense make me want to be a better man?
Will common sense make it easier to understand
That who I am isn't always who I want to be
And what I want is hardly ever what I really need?
And now I know just how it feels...

So you might learn that love is stronger
Wiser by far
