I think that's Rockquest on Kemper Rd. Cincinnati OH, Not sure but that looks A LOT like their spread, Gravel with daisy-chains, the goofy paint job and stucco work......They used to have a BAMF bouldering cave with a picnic area on top...it was so sweet, my sister says it's gone now.... funny they should do this because they're BIG on the ATC style belay devices....I think Imma stop by next time i'm in the Natti, see what's changed.

@peaker16 depends on what your doing. An ATC would be alot better for lead or belaying from the anchor (petzl reverso), and a Gri Gri would be better for top rope, self belay, or if your or your belayer is an uncoordinated nervous-nelly. if you have the cash for a Gri-Gri, you can buy an ATC as well. they both are great
-
@peaker16 I think the ATC device is safer and better because it has less parts that can fail and you have to pay more attention to it.

r2d2 is a slut

i can never get a proper opinion on these things, one person tell me they're totally safe and others tell me that the normal ATC's are safer, will some one tell me weather they are worth buying or not!!

this video is totally useless

Perhaps the safest? Give me a break. If you follow accident reports you will know most belaying accidents are gri gri user error. Claiming the gri gri is safer breeds complacency, which in turn leads to inevitable mistakes like letting go with the break hand and/or disabling the friction break. The gri gri is a great device...when used properly. Don't underestimate the consequences of complacency.

You should learn how to use a basic normal belay first, so when you're told to belay with a normal one- you''re not a safety hazzard!
