One of the most famous endgame studies ever composed, with hundreds of stories surrounding. It has been called Plaskett's puzzle, Truck Driver's Puzzle, G. Van Breukelen Study, etc, etc... For all those mystery surrounding it, this is one great masterpiece. In depth analysis and commentary given. Enjoy !!

  • Thanks for the info... I will keep that in mind for my next video..

  • Interesting story. I actually have seen this uploaded before, but not in English, under the name "La Danza del Elefante" - The Dance of The Elephant (Bishop). But now I know some of the history of the study. Thanks.

  • Excellent study and fantastic video. I think I have also heard this study called the Dance of the Elephant. Thanks for the post!

  • Uber coool, this is the hardest study I have ever seen.., it was invented by God, and because only Tal solved it he died at a young age.

  • This one, along with your commentary, made me laugh.

Think thats a first for a chess puzzle :)

  • WOW!

  • @0nhj oh you mean check at 4:10, well white in the next move will bring back queen with the next instant check, then easy combo and black will be lost anyways

  • @0nhj king can't moves across more then one field

  • @0nhj ...Kf8 would be met with d8=Q+

  • @0nhj in that case simply follows d8 promoting a queen with check.

  • I don't get it I have deep rybka 4 and even she missed the move Bc2!! whats going on i thought Rybka is the most powerful chess engine.

  • drat, foiled again!

  • before watching the rest of this video, i'm going to guess the pawn underpromotes to a knight

  • @Ruxistico yes i realised it right after i posted my comment but i couldnt delete it.. thanks for reply anyway

  • @0nhj he can. Look deeper

  • please post more puzzles or chess videos.

  • ok at 4:14 what happens if king goes to f8 for example after the check? white cant win
