  • My wire kinda gets sharp at the edges after cutting....... so is it safe?

    but anyways nice idea! :)

  • @TheCHiZziES You need to file the sharp edges down. You can use nail filer or sandpaper to do that.

  • I used silver plated wire that I bought many years ago for this project. But you can use any half hard wire that's 18 or 20 gauge.

  • what size is wire?

  • 18 or 20 gauge would work.

  • where can I get the wire? thanks

  • Bead shops online and offline all sell them these days.

  • Can you make a lip ring out of this too?

  • is there any earring wires that are hypo-allergenic? i would love to make those kind of earrings but im afraid if the wires would create skin allergies considering the fact that i'm unfortunately allergic to a lot of things... :( my bad... :'(

  • is it safe enough to be put on as earrings? Because i know some wires that aren't good for your ears

  • @sftbllr123 I tried this using paper clips. So far so so good. I let mine soak in alcohol for about 20 minutes on the safe side before putting them in my ear. Everyone's skin is different so I couldn't tell you how yours would react. I have only done two pair with paperclips --just testing them. I hope it works out because you know paperclips are dirt cheap and you make these by the dozens with them . lol. Good luck

  • Thanks so much for this video! You just saved me a trip and extra money.

  • WOW IS SO COOL WHAT BRAND OF WIRE IS IT CUZ I BOUGHT ONE AND THE WIRE WAS VERY HARD TO WORK WITH AND THE WIRE YOU USED IS SO FLEXIBLE !!!!

  • can you use paper clips??

  • @qtblair you can use any as long as you "work" the wire. I'd suggest the half hard and "work"/harden it after making the hook. To harden it, use a plastic or cowhide mallet and a metal block. Tapping the wire with a non-marring mallet will harden it without deforming it. DON'T USE THE CHASING HAMMER OR YOU WILL DEFORM IT!!! Don't hit it too much, just a few taps and test it to see how hard it gets. Good luck.
