Yerushalayim Shel Zahav: A Tribute to the Golden City and Shuly Nathan

Dedicated to the Golden City of Jerusalem, and to the wonderful Shuly Nathan.

I have many versions of Yerushalayim Shel Zahav on my iPod, I absolutely cherish this song, especially the oh-so-calming melody of the verses. It was hard to choose which version to use for this video, and I was heavily leaning towards Ofra Haza's. Instead, I decided to pay homage to the original singer of Yerushalayim Shel Zahav, the one who introduced it to the world: The wonderful Shuly Nathan. Starting with clips from older performances of the song by her, mixed with images of Jerusalem relating to the lyrics, I used one of her early recordings and then, at the end, blended it with a newer recording and newer performance footage. I am very happy with how this one turned out!
