  • Hey, i'd like to point out that the first time u did the kick in stages, your form was PERFECT and the best I've seen in 3 and a half years of karate, only problem is that the kick would look alot more fluent if u didn't change the level of your knee while your doing the kick, when u tuck kick from the height u are at when you are fully tucked if u cant kick from that height then lower your knee

  • it's yoko gueri :S

and you should kep your guard up when you kick :)

you have a good flexibility tho ^^

  • fair enough if u can get it that high but uv got more range for the body, kicks to the body, punches to the head, u might get cocky and spar a guy that does jujitsu, ur gonna end up on ur ass, play it safe.

  • why r u misleading people if u dont know how to do it perfectly? side kick is a very powerful kick if u execute it properly.Other wise it will be like a sipmle leg lifting

  • cause thats proper technique its called chambering

  • What is the point in lifting your knee and then drop it before you extend your kick? You should practise your hip muscles.

  • i think heres a little mistake... when your about to throw the kick you put down your leg a little bit and then you throw the yogo geri. i think you have to keep your knee up when your going to do the kick and when your backing the leg :P

  • Awesome flexibility. This is the power version of yoko geri, where you bring your torso back for more power, just like you bring the elbow back on a punch. Our Hanshi had us train yoko geri differently w/o leaning back, so you can set up for combinations. It's seems natural to do yoko geri for power because you want it to be strong. Because someone might be good enough to block, parry or even withstand your power kick. But this is great for practising basic form. Good stuff.
