@spjuvR these turbos can take that just fine because the ceramic ball bearings need very little oil.. besides that it could be an oil less comp turbo, so it is packed full of grease that u change like once a year. so those cant get ran low..these turbos last way longer than normal ball bearing turbos and spool even faster. sick is what they are my friend
twisty is a jackass.......... bearings submerged in oil????????? there is no oil pressure when the engine is off. which means the turbo's bearings are running dry. this is not good for turbo's at all....
spj and j4nb: you guys are funny- COMP turbo did a destructive study on their ceramic ball bearing turbos just to see how much they could take and the turbo lasted 5 hours without any oil at all! They recommend a .016" restrictor be used for the oil feed. Journal bearing turbos need much more oil to stay alive. Comp Turbo FTW!
you need to study up... turbos are driven by exhaust, after you shut the motor all turbos will continue to spin untill there done, the longer they do , the healthyer your bearings are which means longer life because of good oil pressur..this is really basic knowledge. this was an example of how long this rather large framed turbo spins after the motor was shut off. also , bearings are constantly submerged in oil in the center section.
nice touch with the rotor on the alt pulley
