B-side from their 'No Point Runnin'' 7" (1982). Electrifying, classic-NWOBHM tune from the first release by short-lived band Black Rose. Sadly they didn't include it on their debut LP, Boys Will Be Boys (they did include a new recording of the A-side), but by then they'd turned into more of a sleaze band anyway.

The song is included however on a retrospective compilation they released recently; info on their official website: http://www.blackrose-rockband.co.uk/

  • Is this the same band that King Diamond was in at one point?

  • @MetalVinn no, this is a (very) different Black Rose. There were about a million bands called this!

  • Hey guys, we have just completed a final ever album and should be releasing sometime this year. I was 18 when we recorded this...I'm 47 now!!!! Long live NWOBHM...and maybe I'll finally make a penny or two! :)

  • @wahwah666 hey man, thanks for commenting! Sorry for the slow reply, haha... Is the album out yet?

This is one of my favourite ever NWOBHM tunes. It's a shame you didn't re-record it for Boys Will Be Boys, but I don't reckon you could've ever bettered this version!

    Horns up!

  • It seems to be the curse of the NWOBHM..some of the bands were a flash in the pan, while others had an albumn or two that was soon forgotten

as other bands rose from the musical abyss, to reign for a short time as they too were overcome by "the next big band."

Make no mistake though-this is GOOD music and I'd rather listen to this (or any other NWOBHM album) than the newfangled stuff.

    The NWOBHM still has power.

  • Too right man. They don't make 'em like this any more!

I was about 14 or 15 when I first learned about the NWOBHM here in America.

I had a British classmate who had loads of albums from bands like Paralex, Black Axe, ect. Sadly, he passed away the year we were to graduate, in 1982.

Also, the amount of imports sold at the local record stores had seen me getting into Raven, Jaguar, and other bands.

The NWOBHM was like most things in life-short, sweet, and a one time offer to never be repeated. Great times!
