  • It's important to NOT ride your horse if your horse has back problems. DUH!

  • Lol, it did a poo at the start!

  • @MileyJonas We have a horse at our stable who is like 26 or 27 years old and has been mounted on from the ground since he started being used many years ago, it hasn't affected his back, he is still strong and being ridden so i don't think that applies to all horses

  • It is NOT good to mount from the ground!! It will ruin your horse!! your horse will get back problems even if it doesn't already. it's not good for your horse and I would NOT recommend mounting from the ground UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

  • how are you ment to know how to mount if she dusnt even mount the horse just tells you to make the stryps shorter etc !!

  • @slightlyofffbeat good advice from both of you. exactly what we do. thumbs up boss

  • lol@horsepoo

  • Do like no4go2 said, but also, once you get on, if he's still trying to walk off, don;'t let him. Make hims stand still for a few minutes first, if he moves any, make him wait longer. The pony I ride used to have that problem

  • do it in steps.

stand beside him if he starts to go ahead pull back on the reins say woa.

next foot in the stirup same thing untill he stops moving

it will take time, but what doesn't? your with your horse so its a good time.

I am sure there are other ways its just the one we use. Not better or worse just different.

  • do you have a corner or something..aybe someone to hold the horse for a mintue?
