I am aware that this video contains one massive logical falicy (appeal to emotion). That said I think there are times when it is more important to be human, that it is to be logical. (I'm pretty shure i stole that line from Captain Kirk)

scenario: you are in this situation right now having those thoughts about the doctor and you have never ever been in contact with any religion whatsoever, you would still have those thoughts and i think yes you would direct them to some sort of higher power but when the surgery or whatever is finished i dont know if u would be thankfull to that higher power...(i mean i wouldnt, id be thankfull to the doctor, because i now that he is real).

@gladtobeno1 and another thing: ive been praying from time to time too, and it was directed to "god", though i have never really cared much about religion. but those where times when i was pretty depressed. its some sort of last hope. but as soon as you feel better you dont need that anymore...

Well... my answer would be something more to the extent we wanted explanations for the world we live in.

We came up many gods at first each one to explain something different

Zeus the god of thunder

Aries the god of the underworld

Aphrodite the god of love

the list goes on ... to explain bad things in the world the story of pandoras box was created...

Does any one really think those stories are true? No because we discovered the reasoning behind them.

Just like evolution.

@sykeo123 That is a good question. Why did man ever talk about the idea of God in the first place. I suppose the easy answer is because it was in our nature.
