Seeburg record dated 10-1-69, but the tune sounds 1950's. Some of these recordings were issued on later records, as Ive heard numerous repeats on different releases. So the fact that the record is dated a certain year does not mean the recordings are as recent as the release. This is an instrumental tune on a 16-2/3 RPM disk designed for play in the Seeburg Background Music system. Type "1959 Seeburg 1000" to watch a video of the machine and read what these were all about.

  • Amazing! I hope you don't mind if I use this for a school project. It'll be a PSA video explaining nuclear energy.

  • @drkdragon01 No problem. I think its great that people want to use these tunes for special projects.

  • @drh4683 hi - are there any rights on it - would need such music for a special video for a customer. but it will be 2 month in the internet. so any chance to use it without problems??

    cheers

    p

  • @djpatrickbo Nope, not a problem at all.

  • Is there anyway to get permission to use this track for a short film project for a high school media class? Thank you!

  • Sure, not a problem. What is your project about? We had to read the book "catcher in the rye" when I was a junior. For extra credit, our whole junior class made a movie called "catcher in the rye" (which took place in the mid 50's) I think we did a good job too (us A/V nerds made it possible) and I was in charge of picking out the 50's music and vintage props. The music used was stuff similar to this. We tried to make it look like a real 50's movie, edited it and all. It was pretty cool.

  • I just love the 50s. So classy.

  • do you know if these are in the public domain?

  • Honeyyy, I'm hoooome

  • How rare are Seeburg background music records?

  • @hoesey I always get the "Frosty Chocolate Milkshakes" thought in mind when this too!

  • @rkmugen I feel your pain. I wish I could go back to this time myself when it all seemed so innocent yet fun seeing and hearing this stuff all over.

  • @mrmjb1960 Shame it didn't became a standard (though I'm sure more care would have to be taken into account on your end not to ruin these discs outside normal play).

  • Anyone knows if I can or how I can use this tune for a commercial video work?
