Indeed there are male principles and female principles, but it is the male principle that is put into the female principle which then germinates and gives manifestation to the physical world. I don't see why it is so hard to recognize the duality of the whole no matter what culture or belief it shows this principle, but what I am more familiar is the Hebraic Culture which breaks down the different planes one being male and one female. ex: Heaven(Male) Earth(Female) so much more, so much more.
