I grew up with this. Really, still growing up with this. Living old fashioned in the desert, I really identified with Laura in the books and on this show. It's a great bunch of stories. For those plainer folk who use computers, it's delightful to find these few shows that speak to our lifeways.

Wow, what a fantastic pilot. I watched almost every other episode of the show, but never saw the pilot. I remember a lot of this from reading the books and I loved seeing in on screen, even if they took a few liberties.

The beauty of the pilot episode is that it follows the book very, very closely! Unlike the sucky Disney version that "pretended" to but had ridiculous things like Laura riding with Pa while he fought off wolves bare handed, Mrs Scott going nuts and shooting a gun, Mary mouthing off to adults, etc. The series didn't follow the book, but this did. Amazing that NBC ALMOST didn't pick it up after the pilot! Thankfully they did ---I LOVE "The Return of Mr Edwards" in the first season!!

I just watch this for my Oral Exam, i don't have much time to read the Book, so i just watched it here on Youtube, i thought it will be Boring to watch, cause it's old and not my type, but i'm Wrong, and i'm ready to watch it all over again . . .
