@MastersoftheOpera I knew Ms. Jurinac personally. We lived in the same town and she taught a friend. Her interpretation is great but the orchestra is being sat on to keep them down. Troyanos really had a horn that would cut through big, out of control orchestras. Both were great interpreters and moving.

I saw her live in NYC with James King and Edita Gruberova in her debut. You may be jealous...it was great.

Look, she's crying before she sings the last climb up to the B-flat... Tatiana lived her roles, she truly lived up there... her art was true. She even said it herself, it was as if she were living her characters onstage when she was up there, it wasn't an "act."

Last year I discover Strauss.. To me was only Salome , Rosenkavalier an sinfonics...Now I felt in love with Ariadna and .. TATIANA!!! I hve not proper word to express how much I enjoy this strong, tender voice and artist.. but as ever happens, the best , pass away too too too early!!!

The best interpretation of this aria for me was sung by Sena Jurinac at the Salzburg Festival (?) a black and white taped performance exists. She was sensational. Those high notes at the end! But Tatiana is remarkable too. Her voice is stunning and that ending is gorgeous

Any chance of uploading the duet between the composer and zerbinetta that occurs before this aria? I've been searching youtube and there doesn't seem to be one video copy of it, just audio. If you could that'd be awesome!
