Local Station Board Member and Co-Director of the International Action Center Sara Flounders discusses the issues at stake in the 2007 WBAI Elections with Bok-keem Nyerere. Flounders and Nyerere are both seeking running for election on the local station board. Nyerere was a staffer with the Pacifica Campaign, which successfully fought the corporatization of the network.
(Clarification: Steve Brown's Company was probed and monitored by the Postal Service, and had legal action taken against it by the Federal Trade Commission resutling in a consent decree forcing the company to pay $150,000 in civil penalties. Crain's Business week in 1986 reported that, "The postal service plans to continue monitoring Direct Marketing
Enterprises to make sure it complies with the FTC's mail-order
regulations, says Postal Inspector Robert Mignogna."
