I think Dustin Johnson also changed to the shorter 44 inch shaft the get more control and feel over the ball, he also wanted to create more power when he had the standard 45 1/2 inch shaft, saying that "The shorter shaft could give me more feel with the spin, and could change the launch and tragectory" But I think he would go much better with a super short 43 inch shaft, but, his choice!
