  • It's remarkable now that my mother remained a sane woman. My sister's bedroom sounded like a relentless visit to Liverpool, and with "Road Runner" one of scores of samples, mine sounded like some rough Detroit taproom, day and night. And we were free to find and set our own tastes; not of this micro-managed childhoods like today. Thank goodness.

  • I second dvlaries's comments. Growing up in the 60s and 70s, on WPGC-FM radio, one minute I would hear The Four Tops, the next minute Mick Jagger, the next minute Johnny Cash, and the next minute, Edith Piaf. Now THAT's true crossover music--not like the play-by-numbers stuff they have today!

  • My favorite Walker tune — mighty fine!

  • @dvlaries Amen! As teenager growing up in the 60's and I've done just fine without today's over parenting. I drove my parents crazy playing this tune over and over again until it wore out

  • Man, this was a great movie. So good I didn't even notice this song playing in the film. It had a messed up ending but I guess there was a reason for it. Still, everyone would have gotten the message anyway.

  • We lived in St. Louis Mo & there was a dance place for the teenagers called Bob-City! We heard this from the back porch! wow!

  • i remember dancing to this and off my face......take me back.

  • I love this song! I thought of it as my theme song. My friends and I used to dance to it all the time. It was a favorite at our parties. Motown ruled in the 60's. So many of the songs from Motown just seemed so right. I liked this way more than "Shotgun", but it was OK also.

  • I second that emotion ... got heart and passion .. love that feeling
