In this Railworld Showcase video, you may notice that some scenery has been added to the embankment on the left side of the layout and also most of the Heritage line track has also been laid and ballasted as well which should be complete within a week or so. Also there is going to be a mini London Underground line added although this will be a fictional line without a station, but the planned stock to be used will be the EFE 1959 Tube Stock which will be motorised with a Metro Models motor kit. Meanwhile we are building the embankments up which are made of Paper Mache and when this is set, another layer will be added to strengthen the embankment and then scatter and trees etc will be added to finish it off. The model trains seen here running in the video is my Hornby Class 60 numbered 60062 named "Samuel Johnson" in Triple-Grey livery hauling three of my Bachmann TEA 100-tonne tankers in BP and Amoco liveries. The other model train seen in the video is a Bachmann Class 170 three-car Turbostar unit in Cross-Country livery. Also you will see some of the completed embankments on the layout as well in some parts of the video.

  • @shane2k9: The Class 170 is a good model but be warned that it is not DCC ready, so you may have to hard wire a suitable decoder into it.

  • @browndog388: When laying ballast, we used diluted PVA glue with a pipet to apply the mixture to the ballast after it has been sprinkled onto the trackbed. To "bank" your tracks, I would suggest using 1.5mm cork sheets under the track as this softens the vibration from the trains when running at high speed.

  • hey love this layout simple but effective and very cool . I go to a model railway club myself and am hoping to do a simular thing to what you have done here can you give me any good tips and can you tell me how you made this ballast because i think it looks great and realistic and i would love to do this with the layout im working on

    Thankyou Browndog388

  • is the class 170 worth me buying it ive been debating to get one or not :/
