  • Nice footage, but these films were not taken in 1978.

  • When they were taken and how can you tell? I found the film along with others from that period. I was not there myself. Thanks.

  • @neilayer - All of the cars are from the sixties (and even some fifties). The newest car(s) I see are 1968 models. This was probably taken February 1969. Had some big storms in Feb '69.

  • @z71vt You are right! I double checked and this footage was on the same reel as other footage taken in 1969. Interestingly, the film was confiscated by the local police who were alerted to college kids making a movie of themselves running around naked on the local country club driveway. The police may have used the confiscated camera to film the snowstorm. I found the film in my father's archives; how he got it remains a mystery.

  • I was stationed At Offutt AFB in Nebraska, working for Air Force Global Weather Central. I plotted that storm for 3 days straight with no time off. It was really amazing to see it from that aspect.

  • I remember the blizzard of '78... School was closed for 2 weeks. I lived on Ft. Devens at that time. Thank you for the video! :)
