@OmorfiKoukla13 There are different variations of belly dancing. In other countries, such as Lebanon and Turkey, you can wear high heels. I think, in Egypt, they also do that, too. It becomes a fashion statement, anyway. You can do it barefoot, you can do it in high heels, whatever it feels comfortable.

i really wish she would've moved around the stage more.... and some of the moves and spins she did [while they might look pretty] didn't really seem to fit in with everything else..... and while i can deal with the shoes.. i think flats probably would've looked nicer.. but she can definitely move =]

It just looks a little more presentable in shoes ,doesn't have to be heels, girls just like to wear them to feel sexy , it can be flats or anything you want.It's not a so called style, just doesn't look good performing in front of an audience barefoot .Lebanese dancers perform at dinners ,restaurants, special occasions or just big crowds,need to look classy or smt like that.Most of the dancers in bdss are doing it,as you would notice cleanness in appearance is everything to them. :)

Perhaps they are talking about the style; and yes, hip movements can come from the belly OR they can come from the legs. There are many kinds of hip/belly/shoulder movements, why close your mind to just one?
