It is possible and it`s also very easy to climb because ascent is not steep.
Anyway, great mountain! We drove past 2 weeks ago on our trip in Mexico.

It's been really clear the past several days, and I always see Popo in the mornings, itt's always smoking, but I haven't seen nor heard of anything major lately. It's about an hour's drive from Tepoztlan.
