  • why are they so keen on getting our children into schools? so that they can be taught (brainwashed) to accept the authority of the system without questioning it!

  • There's nothing in the constitution to force children into schools either!

  • When i have kids. If i can't home school my kids i'll the fucking country and you wont see any tax money or lawyer fees from me ever.

  • encourage ....is key word..not control...he's an idiot...law is absolutly unconstitutional

  • What's the difference ? The schools don't teach, just indoctrinate.

  • Parents brings a child into the world it's their right to teach this child. Who cares what anybody else says, my 3 kids are mine and I will decide where. when, and what they will learn.

  • First, what is your problem with public schools? Please explane.

  • now what if a parent cannot afford to put a child through private schools and absolutely does not want their kids in public schools.

  • Everything with you progressives seems to start out as an "option" (government-provided education, in this instance) and end up being a requirement. The government has no right to detain someone in any facility, who has not committed a crime. This ruling is also, then, a violation of due process, as would be Rahm Emanuel's nefarious "mandatory volunteerism", if it were ever to be made law. The government was made for the people, and not the other way around, for ITS social engineering projects.

  • The constitution does not tell US what we have the right to do. It supercedes everything you've just listed, and it tells the government what it CANNOT do to us. We don't need a constitutional right to refuse to be seized (when we are children), or have our children seized and be told by the government what to think, sir. Forcing children to attend public school is a violation of the 5th and 13th amendment. Every homeschooler I've known scored off the charts compared to public counterparts.

  • Exactly!

It were all underschieving cattle, well all be good little tax payers.

  • I refuse to ever go to "normal" school and be herded about like a cow and forced into a low standard.

I will move to Canada if this happens.
