En el año 1998 Malmsteen da a luz "concerto suite for electric guitar and orchestra in E flat minor opus 1", el cual se grabó junto a la orquesta filarmónica de la república checa.

Malmsteen consigue con este Concerto una verdadera unión entre el rock y la orquesta, sin fisuras desde la composición, orquestación y arreglos, y está excelentemente ejecutado tanto por la orquesta como por Yngwie.
