  • What Would Carl Sagan Do?

  • I think we need wristbands for that

  • Is it just me, or is "Our Place in the Cosmos" (SOS #3) kind of... erotic?

  • Oh it totally is

  • Thank you for posting this. I feel similarly. It is too bad you are so far away because you seem like just the kind of person I would like to know better. Maybe that's selfish that I really just want to have people around me that share my beliefs, but it's so rare to find even out here on the West coast. At least there's You Tube and Meetup groups. LOL.

I hope you are feeling better.

  • That's what I use, too! I hope you have an atheist/skeptic/science group out where you are!

  • INTERNETISREAL- also, i'm not bashing you. Only replying. x3

  • Lol, you reminded me of bill nye when you said we're specks among the blackness of the galaxy.

INTERNETISREAL- Sure all of that is happening, and indeed people are dying (not that i'm advocating death etc.) Think about it her way, She's saying why blow little problems into catastrophes and when you "do a zoom out into the universe" Your little problems don't matter at all. So. look at it in her perspective, and you probably will understand her statement the way I do.

    so yeah.

  • i agree with this but at the same time if you think "it doesnt matter cause we are all insignifigant", why live at all, why have opinions or say what you think at all. ultimatley it does matter that people are dying of aids in africa or that israel bombs palestine every 3 months or any number of negative things and even if you cant change it directly, you have your voice and that makes people aware.

  • There's also a Vangelis song in Cosmos that's total Get-It-On music. I forget the title though.

  • If I feel bad or down I always try to push my ego aside and think about all the people in the world, past and present and how much worse off many of them are and were.

I think most sadness comes from self pity.
