That Santa Fe freight whistle very similar to one off a Norfolk & Western A class steam locomotive. like N&W # 1218.

Well first off dont get a dynamis, instead get the Digitrax zephyr, dynamis is nice but the zephyr will give you ALOT more feautres and options, espically down the road when you expand your system. You change the whistle by changing whats called a CV (Configuration Variable) on the decoder, on the tsnuami's you can change jsut about everything, whistle, bell ring rate, indipendent volume for every single sound, # of air pumps, etc. This can only be done on a dcc system though.

Which one do you think would be good for a Pennsy K4 cause they don't have the banshee...or would the whistle I'm looking for would be in a light steam decoder??

Well if your getting a medium tsunami the banshee would be the most prototypical, but I think the B&O 3 chime would sound good.
