Original "Jersey Boys" cast member and Tony-winner Christian Hoff shares his thoughts about San Diego Junior Theatre. From when Hoff was 8 through his mid-teens, he took classes from the non-profit organization and performed in several of its productions.
San Diego Junior Theatre is the oldest youth theater company in the United States. It thrives on class fees and show ticket sales, as well as the generosity of its alumni and community members. Contributions made to San Diego Junior Theatre are tax-deductible.
To pay homage to the organization, Hoff is returning to the stage of his youth by giving a benefit concert on September 12 at 8 p.m. Held at Balboa Park's Casa del Prado Theater, his performance features a mix of pop and Broadway hit songs, including some from "Jersey Boys."
Tickets range from $25 to $500 and are available at juniortheatre.com and by calling (619) 239-8355.
On Broadway, Hoff has also been in "The Who's Tommy." Currently, he is in the cast of "Parade" at Center Theatre Group's Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
Along with stage roles, his credits include guest appearances on "Ugly Betty" and "Law and Order: Criminal Intent."
