I thought some of the filming for son of rambow looked like berkhamsted nr the cricket club but thought no it can't be surely but andrewmarch saying about them filming for it at Ashlyns maybe it was castle hill in berkhamsted

Yep - they definitely used Castle Hill, in fact the house that the religious kid lived in is half way up on the left!
