Tecmo's colorful and enjoyable puzzle game Solomon's Key proves that a small wizard can unlock a door.

Additively fun and simple to just pick up and play, Solomon's Key went on to be ported to Nintendo Famicom and Famicom Disk, Sega Master System, Sony PlayStation 2, Microsoft XBOX, Nintendo Wii, Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Commodore C64, Amstrad CPC (1987), PC MS-DOS and Atari ST computers.

  • Nice review!

I played this a lot on my Amstrad CPC.

  • Awesome game, excellent review.

  • I have the NES version!

  • No matter how difficult this game got (and it managed to seriously piss me off on a regular basis) I always enjoyed it.

  • Wonderful and challenging game used to play the NES and Gameboy versions but never played it in a actual arcade.

  • That looks pretty sweet! That game would probably kick my ass later on though.

  • I have only played the NES version of this, but after watching this, it seems like it was a faithful port The arcade version looks to be far more colorful, though!

  • nice game, when i saw the name i was not expecting to see a puzzle game, i may try it out sometime tought

  • I had this on NES. Is still one of my fav. games from a design perspective. I think it's fairly brilliant.

  • Man I played the heck out of this for the NES. I like to remove the block the sparks are revolving around and let them fly away. On later levels some of the sparks move insanely fast.

There are numerous secret items to uncover by either erasing a block or placing and then erasing a block. There are also some secret levels in the game; I don't remember how you uncover them.

Thanks for the video of this great game!
