I used to be a mighty fisherman like you, then I took a rogue wave to the knee.

I remember coming back from nato cruise dec 89. We took some rogue waves the size of 60 feet, and my boat was 512 ft long. Those waves would bury the 03 level. Those waves would have taken out the aft watch at the time... That wave knocked out the SM signal on the 05 level.... about 80 feet from the draft! That was the worst 9 days getting home back to the states! Never travel in Dec or Jan in the North Atlantic, if you value your life!

To take that broadside amidships and survive is simply unexplainable, the luck in the world should have counted for nothing then, a wave another 10 or 20 foot high would have dropped that boat to the bottom without a trace. I am not a religious man but these guys sure did have something looking out for them that night. I would love to go out on a crab boat, pay my way but just experience it, I could even make coffee for the crew lol

I'm not an expert but I've done enough reading and studying to know that unlike regular waves, rogue waves break. Maybe you think there were camera tricks, but it looked a fuckload like an abormally large BREAKING wave hit the side of that boat. It was noticeably bigger than the others and it hit the boat with an abnormal amount of speed. If you disagree, back your shit up as to why, instead of making useless statements like the one you made above.

"On 11 March 1861 at midday the lighthouse on Eagle Island, off the West coast of Ireland was struck by the sea smashing 23 panes, washing some of the lamps down the stairs, and damaging the reflectors with broken glass beyond repair. In order to damage the uppermost portion of the lighthouse, water would have had to surmount a seaside cliff measuring 40 m (133 ft) and a further 26 m (87 ft) of lighthouse structure."
