Wow, Gnome 3 looks MUCH better for tablet use than for desktop use.

@aliancemd sadly it's a bit more unstable at the moment than f15, but many bugs already fixed. new onscreen keyboard is pretty neat. tested with my 23" multitouchscreen (infrared tech, so not that accurat but works well)

I searched all over the internet for Gnome-Shell on tablets and never found your video, it was a few weeks ago, and now, here it is... Btw, Fedora 16 with Gnome 3.2 was released today...

I didn't like Gnome 3 until I watched this video... Wow! Really it's great for tablets! And since tablets are likely to replace desktop and laptop computers, Gnome 3 has a great future.

Oh...

How do you get the keyboard to appear on startup of applications?

Enable "Grab & Drag" for Fire Fox. Much better for tablets.

lol @ the suggestions in the right side
nice presentation, but why isn't the keyboard an overlay?

@motus You do not want the keyboard to obscure the text input field you are typing in. The easiest way to do this is to ensure the keyboard never overlaps with the application. However, this is not ideal, and actually not enough for good integration either. My next blogpost will talk about this subject in more detail.

hi!
i've also got a wetab.
how could you enable the touch screen in fedora?
i tried it in fedota 14 with gnome 2.x but it didn't work.
now i use ubuntu 10.10.
did touch work out-of-the-box?

@ThePascalSchneider Hey. The touch screen driver is mainline starting with kernel 2.6.38, so with Fedora 15 it works out of the box!
