After owning a computer for some time you will notice it takes longer and longer for it to load to your desktop screen. This is because many programs you install will add a startup entry, meaning every time your computer turns on part of that program will also load in the background and you don't even know it. The simpliest way to speed up a computer is to eliminate as many as possible.
Always leave your anti virus enabled in it and anything that says "driver" or "windows". Almost everything else you can turn off but be carful or you may remove functions of your computer. Nothing dangerous such as lightscribe or your hot keys, etc. Only remove things you are familiar with. Also you can search the startup name here:http://sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?su... There is a legand to tell you what each indicator means. It is very accurate but if you use Windows Live Messenger this site says it is a virus. It is not. They need to fix that.
Enjoy! You will see a difference in startup time.
