Whatever this is, live or lip synch, it is beautiful. My personal opinion is that it is not a live performance and lip synching. If you listen to the actual conversations, it sounds very much live as if in an auditorium or hall. During the song, that is not present. It is clean, the acoustics are different. Also, KK is known for his ad libs on his live recordings.

My dad has seen this live on Doordarshan & he says it became a big issue those days & Kalyanji accepted this in the print media that it was a lip sync, reason it was impossible to organize the orchestra for the live show on tv those days...compare this & other songs from the show with the original recordings & u will realize it, Kishoreda no doubt a great singer but he had no choice of his own in this...
